Troegs The Mad Elf Holiday Ale

My rating:

overall: 4.1
appearance: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.5 | mouthfeel: 4 | drinkability: 4

Appearance - Beautiful clear ruby color. Light head that didn't hang around very long.
Smell - Malty with a good hint of cherries. Definite alcohol aroma. Sweet, but not syrupy sweet aroma.
Taste - The chocolate malt really comes through and is highlighted by cherry notes. A bit of alcohol warming, but not hot.
Mouthfeel - Thick on the tongue, although not coating or cloying. Relatively dry finish given the ABV.
Drinkability - Remarkably drinkable considering the ABV.

From the brewer:

The combination of Cherries, Honey, and Chocolate Malts delivers gentle fruits and subtle spices. Fermented and aged with a unique yeast , this ruby red beer has significant warming strength that underlies the character of this Ale.
